What is Human Geography?
The branch of geography dealing with how human activity affects or is influenced by the earth’s surface.
What is Settlement Geography?
Is about where people live.
What does Settlement Geography look at?
1) It looks at why Settlements grow and some settlements such as villages stay small in size whilst urban areas grow more rapidly
2) It also looks at how land is used in cities, and how they change over time
What is Communication
Communication describes the methods of transport by which people move about to work, school, to the shops.
What does Communication Include?
It includes the movement of goods, called trade and information like telephone conversations and programmes on tv
What is Economic Geography?
It is the study of economic activity and factors that affect it, it is about the industry jobs and wealth.
What are the Primary Activities in Economic Geography.
the secondary acivities
the tertiary activities
1) Farming and mining
2) Use of raw materials from the primary sector to produce and manufacture goods
3) The Production of services instead of goods.
What is Environment Geography?
The Study of the surroundings in which plants and animals live, it is a combination of the physical and human environment.
How are resources misused?
By using them up, deforestation and soil erosion.
By polluting them, eg rivers, the sea and the air.
What should a map have?
A scale, direction, Key of Symbols and a title.

A topographic map is a type of map characterized by large-scale detail and quantitative representation of relief features,

Weather Maps-Show different climatic conditions
Climate Maps - show different climate zones
Political Maps - show divisions into districts of a country
Economic Maps - show agricultural and industrial activities.
Geological Maps - Show the rocks of an area.
