Definition: Genus
A
Always capitalized.
Plural= “genera”
The definition of genus:
A group of plants that have common leaf, flower, needle, cone, bark, seed, or other plant characteristics.
For example, members ofDigitalisare biennials or perennials with alternate leaves and tubular shaped flowers.
If listing multiple different species- after writing out the Genus the first time, can list just first letter of Genus and a period- followed by the other species names.
