Gene definition?
A section of a molecule of DNA. It codes for a specific protein.

Scientists across the world mapped out every gene in the human body
Allele definition
A different form of a gene that codes for a different version of a characteristic
Genotype definition
A description of the pair of alleles present for characteristics
Phenotype definition
The physical expression of the genes
Homozygous definition
Pair of alleles that produces a characteristic that is the same (e.g BB or bb)
Dominant definition
An allele that will always be expressed even when there is only one copy
Recessive definition
An allele that will only be expressed when both alleles are of this type represented by the same letter.
Heterozygous definition
Has two different alleles of a gene (e.g Bb)
