What is penetrance?
The likelihood of having a disease if you have the corresponding genetic mutation.
What are mendelian disorders?
Those that are predominately caused by a change in a single gene.
What change is observed in long QT syndrome?
Takes longer for repolarisation.
How is long QT syndrome managed?
Avoid medications that may lengthen this.
Give long-acting beta-blockers.
What is brugada syndrome?
An inherited channelopathy associated with polymorphic VT, VF and AF.
What pattern of inheritance seen in brugada syndrome?
Autosomal dominant
What is Wolff-Parkinson White Syndrome?
A syndrome causing shortened PR interval and an accompanying delta wave.
What are epsilon waves seen in?
Arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy
