Q

What are the stages of genetic engineering?

A
  • Chromosome extracted and required gene identified and cut out using enzymes
  • Plasmid extracted and cut open using enzymes
  • Gene inserted into plasmid using enzymes and inserted into bacterial “host” cell
  • Bacterium grows and multiplies
  • Product mass-produced by duplicates of plasmid
