What happened in Genesis 40?
Joseph while in jail interprets two dreams: the cupbearer and the cheif baker. He interprets their dreams correctly - Cupbearer is restored chief baker is hung.
What happened in Genesis 41?
Pharaoh has a dream that none of his wise men can interpret but the cupbearer remembers Joseph. Joseph interprets Pharaoh’s dream. (The dreams are 7 years of plentiful harvest and 7 years of famine) Joseph is made ruler of Egypt.
Joseph marries Asenath, daughter of Potiphera priest of On. She bears Manasseh, “For,” he said, “God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” and Ephraim, “For,” he said, “God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction.”
What happened in Genesis 42?
Jacob sends his sons to Egypt for food. Joseph accuses them of being spies, takes Simeon captive and sends them back to bring Benjamin to prove they are not spies.
What happened in Genesis 43?
The brothers return to Egypt with Benjamin and double the money. Joseph invites them to his house and eats with his brothers (They do not yet know it’s Joseph.) He sees Benjamin for the first time and weeps. (He has to leave and weeps in a secret room.) He give Benjamin 5 times the portion he serves his brothers.
What happened in Genesis 44?
The day before their brothers leave, Joseph commands his servant to fill their bags with as much wheat as they can carry and puts the money they used to buy the wheat back. He then places his cup in Benjamin’s bag. When the brothers left, the servent caught up to them and accused them of wronging Joseph and brings them back to Egypt.
Judah then tell Joseph the whole story of his father and explains that he is responsible for his brother Benjamin.
What happened in Genesis 45?
Joseph reveals himself to his brothers and tell them they will live in Goshen. He tells them about the famine and the 5 remaining years.
What happened in Genesis 46?
Jacob moves to Egypt and his bloodline is described in detail.Joseph met his father, Jacob.
What happened in Genesis 47?
Jacob’s family lives in Goshen. Because of the famine, Joseph buys all the Egyptians land and they are to give a fifth of it to Pharaoh at harvest. Jacob made Joseph promise his father that he would bury him with his family in Machpelah
What happened in Genesis 48?
Joseph goes before his father Jacob. He presents his children Ephraim and Manasseh. He tries to cross them to Jacob, but Jacob places his hand on the younger Ephraim. Joseph is displeased, trying to correct his father, but Jacob said that the younger will be greater than the older.
What happened in Genesis 49?

Judah is prophesied as a King and that a scepter will not depart from him. That he shall be praised from among his brethren.
