Genesis Flashcards
Bible - The book on leadership
If you want to learn leadership, go to the greatest Book on leadership ever written—the Bible. You are holding in your hands a tool that has the potential to change your life and the course of your development as a spiritual leader. It is a Bible that draws out the leadership principles that have been woven into it by the One who invented leadership. Who could possibly teach us more about leadership than God Himself?
Success or failure
I wholeheartedly believe that everything rises and falls on leadership. By that I mean that, more than anything else, the leadership of any group or organization will determine its success or failure.
Person’s level of effectiveness
“Leadership ability determines a person’s level of effectiveness.” That is key when working with others. Greater than resources, talent, money, or intelligence, leadership makes the difference when it comes to making an impact.
Thomas Jefferson
As Thomas Jefferson proclaimed, “In matters of fashion, swim with the current. In matters of conscience, stand like a rock.”
“You are the salt of the earth. . . . You are the light of the world. . . .
If you are a follower of Christ, then you recognize that you are called to influence others. Jesus said it this way: “You are the salt of the earth. . . . You are the light of the world. . . . Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matt. 5:13–16).
Vision & Leadership
Leaders must learn to adjust their plans while holding tenaciously to the vision.
Character and competence
No one can lead well without following well. * Individuals must see the benefits of the vision before they will commit to it. * To win trust, leaders must exhibit both character and competence.
The LORD God formed man
7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
The Law of Influence: Eve the Negative Influencer
4 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. The Law of Influence: Eve the Negative Influencer 5 “For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD
7 So the LORD said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. Profile in Leadership: Noah: A Man of Righteousness
Noah Pleases God
Noah Pleases God 9 This is the genealogy of Noah. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.
Then God remembered Noah
Noah’s Deliverance 1 Then God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters subsided.
Olive leaf
11 Then the dove came to him in the evening, and behold, a freshly plucked olive leaf was in her mouth; and Noah knew that the waters had receded from the earth.
My covenant with you
11 “Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
13 “I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
God’s blessing
3 I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
