A

Pros:
-one to one with patients so can build a rapport
- build confidence in own ability
- if safe to do so increases efficiency and amount of patients that can receive treatment
-less daunting to the patient
Cons:
- not always safe to do so
- limit input from others with different experiences and idea
-treatment sessions may be limited

What is your understanding of confidentiality?

A

Patients trust us with information, they have the legitimate expectations that this information with remain private
Confidentiality means only discussing information with the required individuals
There is a confidentiality model which includes, protect in the information, inform the patient of what it is used for, give the patient choice and continue to improve
The HCPC says that health professionals must know the limitations of confidentiality. Confidentiality can be broken if there is risk to the patient or those around them, however the information should still only be relayed to the required individuals and where possible the patient should be made aware that there info is being shared and the reason why.

A

It is the combined responsibility of all health professionals to protect vulnerable children and adults
Each trust will have a safeguarding policy and most have a safeguarding lead who you can go to for advice

Call main respiratory wards day off on call to see if there are any potential patients and gain insight into the patient

7 day services- 16% more likely to die on a Sunday, see the benefits of having and not having. Refer to 5 year forward 
Coordination between hospital and home- 17% readmissions for same reason, cost the nhs billions. Talk about appropriate discharge and preventing readmissions, communication with primary care e.g. GPS
Chronic pain- 7.8 million people in the uk have chronic pain, LBP patient cost the NHS £1,074 a year. Appropriate methods of treatment, talk about class and the psychological implications for the patient

5 year froward plan?

A

Plan initially develop in 2014, and set out in 2016 as a way to improve efficiency and patient care
Focused on- what we do at an individual level, population as a whole and maintaining quality and efficiency
Looked at reducing A&E to 4hrs for 95% of patients, avoiding deaths through a 7 day service, improving the amount of GPS, decrease of obesity and diabetes (taking a unhealthy food shops further away from schools), collaboration with third sector
3,000 more GP and 5,000 more nurses, aim now is on early discharge and delayed readmissions and keeping the elderly active

A

Check the patient was okay, take some obs
Request assistance from appropriate staff to assist patient into a safe position, check the patient is okay
Take appropriate steps to report incident
Reflect on incident to see if there was anything I could of done differently
Monitor patient for rest of the day, in the next sessions reduce goal and build back up
Talk to patient to see if they have any concerns

The forever friends appeal raising money for the RNHRD and therapy center
Spreading stories of those who have experienced therapy
These two facilities will continue the much needed therapies to 250,000 treated each year

A

If you make a decision for someone it must be done in their best interest
MCA allows for a trust individual to make decision on their behalf
Person is unable to make a decision if they can’t
