What are your weakness?
Put a lot of pressure on myself to do well= stress, how do I deal with stress?
I want the people around me to be happy= unrealistic expectations
How would you cope if a rotation was change at short notice?
Been in a similar situation with placement
Contact the new rotation to find out if they can provide advice
Explore the most relevant information e.g. guidelines
Discuss with peers
Be honest and open on arrival about knowledge and experience = patient safety
Explore research and textbooks throughout
Ask for observation with other members of MDT and have patient discussions to learn the role of each MDT member
What can you do to ensure your HCPC registration?
HCPC- standards of proficiency state:
- maintain your CPD and continually develop your learning- attend conferences, talks and courses
- keep yourself active
- maintain confidentiality
- safe and effectively working within own scope
How would you promote physiotherapy to a student?
Rewarding Helping people Lots of areas to work in Hard work and commitment Requires using your initiative and independence as well as working within a passionate team of individuals
Pros/cons of working by yourself? (Opposite for being in a team)
Pros:
-one to one with patients so can build a rapport
- build confidence in own ability
- if safe to do so increases efficiency and amount of patients that can receive treatment
-less daunting to the patient
Cons:
- not always safe to do so
- limit input from others with different experiences and idea
-treatment sessions may be limited
Talk about a situation which you have had to overcome?
BIU- family meetings about life changing situations
If a patient wanted to overdose?
Discuss why they are feeling that way
Discuss with senior- confidentiality would need to be considered
Make sure to clearly document in notes
Advice patient to talk to a loved one or someone close to them
Explore appropriate support services to direct the patient to

Develop learning in lots of different areas

What is your understand of equality and diversity
Equality- treating everyone as equals with respect and maintaining dignity,every 4 years nhs England set objective- also includes being inclusive of staff. Example- Leicester people where English isn’t first language

What is your understanding of confidentiality?
Patients trust us with information, they have the legitimate expectations that this information with remain private
Confidentiality means only discussing information with the required individuals
There is a confidentiality model which includes, protect in the information, inform the patient of what it is used for, give the patient choice and continue to improve
The HCPC says that health professionals must know the limitations of confidentiality. Confidentiality can be broken if there is risk to the patient or those around them, however the information should still only be relayed to the required individuals and where possible the patient should be made aware that there info is being shared and the reason why.
What is safeguarding?
It is the combined responsibility of all health professionals to protect vulnerable children and adults
Each trust will have a safeguarding policy and most have a safeguarding lead who you can go to for advice

Important that the individual involved is confident that there info is kept safe and only shared with the required individuals
What are my personal values?
Treat others how I would like to be treated
Punctual, reliable and organised
Help others and seek help from others when required
How would I prepare for on call?
Ensure I am confident with all the equipment, if not discuss with supervisor to fit in a time to practice
Call main respiratory wards day off on call to see if there are any potential patients and gain insight into the patient
Sort out accommodation
Create a crib sheet for answering the phone
Be aware of who to call if need advice during the night (on call supervisor)
How physiotherapists can prevent readmissions?
Appropriate time of discharge
Appropriate equipment at discharge
Francis report- weren’t checking patients were safely discharged to a house, care doesn’t stop as soon as leaving the door
Communication between MDT of any concerns
Being aware of discharge opportunities not appropriate for all to go home
