What are the 9 sections that must be included in a letter of advice?

A

Title section (form, address, number, name of client, client address, date and reference)

Opening (De Mr/Ms) - give a HEADING

Niceties: it was nice speaking with you yesterday…

Facts: outline factual situation, headings as appropriate.

Legal position: outline position, simplistic. Potential defences

Evidence; outline what evidence there is to prove claim, outline what further evidence is needed

Options: pros and cons of each option. Negotiation/settlement as an OPTION

Next steps: what, when, who

Sigh off: yours sincerely, yours faithfully
