Wants validation from her mum, does not have her own views, desperately seeking external validation from her parents
‘Mummy’ she follows her mums beliefs, like a child blindly follows her mothers guidance
Little autonomy over society.
Inherited and indoctrinated by parents values, they’re deeply insecure and seek validation
Immature yt and naivety in following their parent bigoted ideas

Juxtaposes fathers view,
Interjects some hope from the beginning that younger gen could do better
She has greater degree of compassion to her parent which however is limited by her lack of discretions of her own actions
She rejects dehumanisation of working class sees them as people.
Only says this after inspector arrives, so inspector is a vehicle to help the younger generation develop their own mindset

A

Priestly creates a greater sense of divide between older and younger generation, but showing the amount of responsibility they wish to accept
Sense of juxtaposition
Reaction of older vs younger generation
Increasing confidence and assurances of younger gen as they challenge the older viewpoints
Developing their own sense of values which are more socialist, younger gen want to create an egalitarian society predicated on welfare

Distances from mother as she condemns her mother, now she scolds, reversered
I think - she has formed her own opinions
Divide between them is clear
Echoing the inspector, for the first time they ahve a different role model mo longer stuck in echo chamber they have a new role model seeing it through new eyes
