Adhesions
Bands form between two or more organs or between organs
and the abdominal wall.
Abscess
An abscess is a painful, swollen, infected, and pus-filled
area just outside your colon wall
Achalasia
a relatively rare disorder of the esophagus that makes
it hard for foods and liquids to pass into the stomach.
Anal fistula
a small tunnel with an internal opening in the anal canal
and an external opening in the skin near the anus. Anal
fistulas form when an anal abscess, that’s drained, doesn’t
heal completely.
Anastomosis
A connection made surgically between adjacent blood vessels,
parts of the intestines, or other channels of the body, or the
operation in which this is constructed.
Appendectomy
Excision of the appendix, usually performed to remove the
acutely inflamed organ
Ascites
The accumulation of fluid in the peritoneal cavity, causing
abdominal swelling
