Q

waves

A
B awake
A drowsy
T stage 1
S stage 2
D stage 3+4
REM saw tooth
  1. delta (< 4Hz): sleep stages 3 and 4; dominant wave in infants up to one year
  2. theta (4–8Hz): daydreaming, meditation; abnormal in awake adults, but normal in children up to 13, stage 1.
  3. alpha (8–12Hz): alert but not actively processing information
  4. beta (13-30Hz): dominant during alert and eyes open
  5. gamma (>30)Hz): higher level information processing
