What do you do if someone approaches you with full headlights on?
Shift your vision to the left of the road and down so you are not dazzled and slow down if necessary (if approaching from behind use night mode in mirror)
What should you look for in your tyres before driving?
1) Check there is a minimum tyre tread of 1.6mm (not worn) (anything less is not sufficient to grip the road and illegal)
2) ensure the tyres are the correct pressure (do not look flat)
If you were the only person around, how would you check:
1) your indicator
2) your break lights
1) put car in neutral with handbrake on, put on the hazard lights (to check both) and get out of the car
2) either reverse to a reflective surface (eg. Wondor or wall) and press brake and see if the light is reflected against the surface OR use a mop/brush to press the brake when the car is on (neutral, handbrake on) and wedge it in place to check lights
How do you check if your handbrake works?
Test where there is a small incline/decline on the road. Apply foot brake firmly, disengage handbrake and then reapply. Then remove foot from foot brake and see if vehicle remains stationary and the handbrake handle is not too far up.
