Please explain your understanding of team working.
A team has a common shared aim. People in the team carry out tasks to achieve objectives, and together fulfil this aim.
I have found that I enjoy team working because I meet people with differing competencies working together towards a common aim. In contrast, failing to form teams through appropriate selection or to promote team working above self-interest can lead to inferior project outcomes and a higher turnover of staff.
Tell me about an example of where you have worked well in a team?
Actively worked together with other team members to produce and present a pitch for a potential new client for a potential new instruction, this included accounts . We all worked towards the common goal of winning the new instruction.
What is the Tuckman Theory?
Focuses on how a team tackles a task, consists of 5 phases: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, Transforming
What is the Herzberg Theory?
Two-factor motivational theory, workers are motivated through motivators such as empowerment, and can become demotivated if hygiene factors are not met; such as working conditions.
Leadership qualities
Been ‘buddy’ to new starters
Manager to site staff
Lead client meetings when my manager has been unable to attend
How does Equality Act 2010 protect people from discrimination?
It is legal act
X4 types of discrimination - indirect/direct discrimination, harrassment and victimisation (legal action can be taken)
What does Equality Act mean for LLs?
