IFR in Class E or civil flights in CTA- 3000
How to calculate distance prior to arc to commence turn in a reversal?
good rule of thumb to anticipate lead onto an arc is ‘1 % of groundspeed’ for a rate one turn.
Ie. 120kts, commence turn 1.2NM prior to arc

When does an IPC expire?
The end of the 12th month after the month in which the holder passes the flight test.
When can a pilot pass an IPC and maintain the original validity date?
3 months before the validity of the existing check expires.
What are the main privileges of an instrument rating?
Fly an aircraft under the IFR, or under the VFR at night.
What are the 4 general limitations of an instrument rating?
1) conduct an instrument approach only if aircraft is equipped for it.
2) fly single-pilot under the IFR only if, at some time in the past, the holder has passed an instrument rating or IPC in a single-pilot aircraft;
3) circling approach under the IFR only if the holder has passed an IPC within the previous 12 months including a circling approach
4) fly an instrument approach only if the holder has completed training in the conduct of that instrument approach and has demonstrated competence to CASA or an examiner.
