Tell me about yourself and why you are interested in this role
I’ve always been a data driven person – this started in undergrad (quan econ + ticket model)
then served in USMC (mention EBRG)
went to business school - got really interested in healthcare - found Merck + finance
after joining merck and doing finance data - got really interested in DS + healthcare –> MIDS while supporting the CSO
now excited to take my leadership from USMC, business/strategy experience, data science to add value to the business
What are your long-term aspirations and how does this get you there?
Long-term goal is to be a commercial leader (GM of Global Franchise) - in future those individuals are going to have to use data – so my goal is to be a data science savvy commercial leader

- Communication and collaboration: Can effectively communicate with a data analysts and business stakeholders to garner alignment and drive work forward
- Data science toolkit: Quickly developing data science toolkit (python, ML, R, experiments, SQL)

Extremely hardworking, thoughtful, and collaborative. Tend to be on the quieter end unless there’s something I feel it’s really important to be vocal about.
Mistake
Jumping too quickly into workshop planning and execution and realizing need for external support
Was very open with our stakeholders and explained the need to bring in additional support
