W— Wash hands 🙌
I— Introduce yourself, ask patient name, explain to patient what you’re coming to do, and ask for permission to go ahead.
P— Position patient in a comfortable position.
E— expose patient.
Stand at the foot end of the patient to do a gross examination
And also comment on the patients environment
Comment on the general state of the patient ; if the patient is stable, restless or not etc
Stand at the right hand side of the patient then start examination.
