What is an Art Movement/Style
A style or certain techniques, equipment or materals and themes that are popular during a set time or can be catogorised under one umbrella.
What Are Complimentary Colours
Colours on opposite sides of the colour wheel.
(Red and green; yellow and purple; orange and blue; green and magenta)
Exposure
The amount of light let in depending on the amount of time.
Depth of Field
The distance between one object and another. The amount of space in a photograph that is in focous.
(Foreground, Midground, Background)
Aperture
The opening and closing of the lens that controls the amount of light let in.
What are the Warm colours and what do they do?
Warm Colours are bright, they come forward and pop
- Red, Orange, Yellow.
What are cool colours and what do they do.
Blue, green, purple.
Cool colours are dull. They move backwards.
When working with warm colours, they create contrast.

Shutter Speed
How fast the photo was taken.
Value
The amount of light and darkness in an object. (Similar to tone).
Symbolism
Something that stands for bigger ideas
Technique
How the artist made their art.
The way is was produced.
Wide Angle
Show the subject from a large angle, shows a lot.
Secondary Colour
2 Primary Colours Mixed Together.
(Orange, Purple, Green)
Tertiary Colour
A primary and secondary (primary& primary) colour mixed together. Needs 3 colours.
Light Meter
Device that indicates the light levels
SLR
Single Lens Reflex Camera.
Film Camera.
The Lower the f stop?
- The larger the aperture is open
- The shallower the depth of field
- The Brighter the image
The Higher the f stop?
- The smaller the aperture is open
- The deeper the depth of field
- The darker the image
Group f64
Group f/64 or f.64 was a group founded by seven 20th-century San Francisco Bay Area photographers who shared a common photographic style characterized by sharply focused and carefully framed images seen through a particularly Western (U.S.) viewpoint.
They were increasingly attracted to the work of such photographers as Ansel Adams.
