Who was William Morris?
William Morris was a 19th-century English artist, designer, and writer known for his contributions to the Arts and Crafts Movement. He was a prominent figure in the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and is best known for his textile designs, as well as his writings on socialism and craftsmanship. The Bloomsbury Group, a circle of influential intellectuals and artists in the early 20th century, was inspired by Morris’s ideas on art and society.
The Strawberry Thief was one of his most famous textile designs.
