Q

How do you work out serial dilutions?

A
  1. Calculate dilution factor: stock/solution needed
  2. Find out the volume needed of stock solution: volume needed/dilution factor
  3. Find volume of water needed: final solution - part 2
  4. Add together volumes: part 2 + part 3

Q

What is the T test?

A

It looks for the difference between two means

If it’s less than 0.05, the difference isn’t significant

17
Q

What is the chi-squared test?

A

X2 = sum of: (fo - fe)2 / fe
Fe = expected frequency
Fo = observed frequency
Determines the relationship between two variables
If p < 0.05, the variables are independent
