You just removed your starting point as ultimate authority, and decided you will only use their starting point as ultimate authority

What is theistic evolution?
God directed the evolutionary process or just set it up and let it run
What is progressive creation?
- Big Bang
- days of creation overlapping periods of millions of years
- Over millions of years, God created new species as others kept going extinct.
- Death, bloodshed, and disease existed before Adam and Eve.
- Manlike creatures that looked and behaved much like us (and painted on cave walls) existed before Adam and Eve but did not have a spirit that was made in the image of God, and thus had no hope of salvation.
- The Genesis Flood was a local event.
How could a loving God allow suffering?
God created a perfect world. No death or suffering
Death and suffering is a result of our sin
The penalty for sin is death
Thus, there is no reason that God should allow us to live in the first place.
