Usually one hour, on children only 15 - 20 mins
What is the purpose of eye contact
To check if there any changes in facial expressions and to make sure the pressure is ok
How many recognised zones are there in the body according to Reflexology?
There are 10 Longitudinal zones, 5 on each side of the middle line and three transverse zones
What a Referral areas in reflexology
A referral area is an anatomically related area, which can be worked instead of or addition to, the affected area. Shoulder/Hip, Upper arm / Thigh, Elbow/Knee Forearm/Calf, Wrist/Ankle Hand/Foot, Finger/Toe
Name two principles that practitioner should follow to look after themselves and their energy?

What is the Eustachian tube and where can you find it on the foot
Definition of Homeostasis?
Homeostasis is the ability of the body to maintain balance or
return to its balance after illness, stress or injury. Factors that need to be controlled are
Temperature, pH, Glucose levels, Water and salt levels (osmoregulation), Calcium levels
Cells have many parts with different functions. Name three of these parts (organelles).
Ribosome, Mitochondria-the power house of the cell, nucleus- it contains our DNA
(genetic information)
What is the function of the plasma membrane?
Separates contents of the cell from
outside environment + regulates what enters/ exits the cell. Protects integrity of the cell interior by allowing only selected substances into the cell+ keeping other substances out (protection).
Name the two different types of Cellular Transport?
Passive transport (no energy needed)
and active transport (it DOES require energy expenditure generated by cellular metabolism).
For what reasons or under what circumstances would you treat a client’s hand instead of the
feet?
Infections on the foot, broken bones
name two ways in which Reflexology works?
Relaxation, stress reduction, circulation
improvement, nervous system stimulation, increased energy levels, elimination
. Name three principles of the CODE OF ETHICS that students must follow while training?
They
must practice only on family and friends, Acceptance and observation of this Code of Ethics
is a condition of membership, Student members must take guidance from their tutors regarding contra-indications for reflexology treatment. A member who is qualified to
practise another therapy in addition reflexology may do so only with the prior agreement of the school tutor + client, and must make it clear to the client that secondary therapy is not part of the reflexology treatment, Medical diagnoses must not be made or implied, no unqualified advice should be given
Name three self-care principles that we must follow while practicing?
Look after yourself,
plan breaks in between sessions, don’t get too much involved with the client, ground
yourself
Explain the concept of treatment plan?
Treatment plan means the way you as a therapist deal with your patient’s condition, your focus. Part of the treatment plan is to take a detailed medical history, medications, stress level of the patient, diet, exercise, their goals. Treatment plans are extra important in determining how many
treatments + how often your client should come back to achieve some of the changes
they’re hoping to get from Reflexology Treatments + if it possible to achieve those changes.
