APU location ?
Tailcone of the empennage
26
Is the empennage pressurised?
No
27
How many baggage compartments?
Two. One forward and one aft.
28
FWD and AFT baggage load limits ?
FWD : 412 kg AFT: 1707kg
29
internal access to the forward baggage compartment must never be use while ?
must never be use while airborne to ensure the integrity of the fire suppression system installed.
30
Types of doors in the cabin ?
The cabin has four doors. Three of the doors are classified as Type I and one is classified as a Type Il/Type Ill door. The flight deck is equipped with an Emergency Escape Hatch. These exits provide a total of 5 escape routes.
31
What’s the forward emergency exit door type ?
Type 11/111
32
Which doors use an inflatable door seal ?
The forward cabin airstair door is a semi-plug type door. The door has an inflatable seal to maintain pressurisation and prevent air leaks. by the engine bleed air that supplies the airframe de-ice system, or a refillable reservoir located beneath the cabin floor. With the engines not operating, the reservoir supplies enough air pressure to inflate the seal during four cycles of opening and closing. When the internal door handle is raised, it reaches a position short of full OPEN where the seal is depressurised and deflates. The only other door that uses an inflatable seal is the aft baggage door.
33
Where is the air supplied from for the Inflatable door seals and how many cycles can you do when the engines are not operating?
Air is supplied by the engine bleed air that supplies the airframe de-ice system, or a refillable reservoir located beneath the cabin floor. With the engines not operating, the reservoir supplies enough air pressure to inflate the seal during four cycles of opening and closing.
34
Can you open the air stair door inflight ?
A pressurised airstair door seal in conjunction with the aircraft being pressurised, makes it is almost physically impossible to open the forward airstair door in flight.
35
In the event of a ditching which doors are to be used ?
Forward cabin doors
36
In the event of a ditching, the Ditching Dam would be ?
pulled to the floor prior to opening the door. This is accomplished by grasping the Dam by its center push in flap handle and pulling the dam in and down to release it from the stowed position and lower it to the floor.
37
When closing the Service Door or Rear Passenger Door, do not close the door too ?
fast as this can cause the door to drop into place without being correctly positioned at the top. This may cause the door jam.
38
The handle to control the ditching dam is located at the top center of the door, and is normally in the land position. The handle has two positions ?
Land position horizontal Ditching position vertical
39
If the handle for the lower door is not placed in the ditching position, the lower door will ?
Fall outward and down when the top door is opened. This will provide full access from floor level to the top of the door. This is the normal configuration for land egress.
40
How many pax seats ?
74
41
What’s in the galley ?
The aft galley features three DC powered hot water urns, and storage space for food and beverage containers.
42
The forward emergency cupboard incorporates ?
* one halon BCF fire extinguisher * one sharp disposable kit * one PBE * one first aid kit * one supplemental oxygen bottle and face mask * one megaphone * one passenger support harness * one hygiene kit * six infant life jackets
43
The wardrobe contains ?
* 1 x Restraint pack * 1 x Dangerous Goods Infectious Substances, or DGIS, pack * 5 x Extension seat belts * 5 x Infant restraint belts * 1 x Suspicious Article Action Plan (SAAP) satchel.
44
The dog house located behind seats 19C and 19D contains ?
* 1 x Emergency first aid kit * 1 x Supplemental oxygen bottles * 1 x First aid oxygen bottle * 1 x Face mask.
45
The dog house located behind seats 19A and 19B contains ?
* 1 x Pair of fire gloves * 3 x Halon BCF fire extinguishers * 2 x Protective Breating Equipment (PBE).
46
The electronic door lock is powered from the ?
right DC essential bus. If power is removed from the system the door lock solenoid is designed to a fail safe unlock condition.
47
How long after the code has been put into the door does the door unlock ?
30s and remains open for 15s
48
If the INTERNAL DOORS caution light illuminates pilots should immediately ?
check the remote access system control module to ascertain the status of the flight deck door.
49
Where’s the oxygen mask located for the observer ?
Right side of the flight compartment
50
Each of the doors and exits displayed on the DOORS page have proximity sensors. The sensors send signals to the Proximity Sensor Electronic Unit, or PSEU, regarding the door position status. Should the PSEU data become invalid, the DOORS page will display ?
A message saying INVALID DATA
51
Controls for the Active Noise and Vibration Suppression are located ?
Flight attendant control panel
52
Illumination of the FUSELAGE DOORS warning light indicates ?
One or more exterior doors is open
53
When trying to open the flight compartment door you notice it is jammed. To exit the flight compartment ?
Remove the hinge pins from the door
54
Controls for the Active Noise and Vibration System (ANVS) are located ?
On the flight attendant control panel
55
Qantaslink Dash 8 Q400s are fitted with how many passenger seats?
