Ashley and Susan are the CEO and CFO of a community mental health organization. Suspecting that there is some waste and inefficiency in the system, they do various kinds of analysis and find that their agency has been very inefficient. They decide to come up with an action plan for improvement.
Which of the following is not characteristic of such an action plan?
Accountability for system failures. Action plans that come about as part of necessary and regular program evaluation could result in a number of realizations and outcomes. It could be decided, for instance, that some services that have been provided are not productive of results, or that more resources should be spent on supporting productive services. It may be decided that a different group is more appropriate to target for the kind of services provided by that program. Other ideas and action items are possible depending on the situation and type of analysis.
Accountability for failures is not usually considered part of a forward-looking plan for improvement. Issues of accountability may exist and may come to light during a program evaluation, but program improvements and plans of action or correction should not be phrased as failures of the program itself.
William is a social worker in a private practice setting in a small town. He has served multiple members of one family, including the father, the mother, and the two children. Each client’s records are stored separately. In doing assessment and obtaining collateral information, William has come across information about the nature of one of the children’s background and early life that he thinks would cause serious and irreparable harm to that child’s life. When that child reaches 21, that client requests a copy of all of their files from treatment.
What should William do about the sensitive material?
He should withhold the sensitive material.

Which of the following is the least likely benefit of the technique of role-playing?
It enhances internal processing.
What is the best long-term solution to establishing a safe and positive work environment?
Standards, policies, and procedures.
Jane is experiencing distress in her sexual experiences. She comes to Audrey, a social worker who specializes in sexual dysfunction and treatment. Jane reports that she is the victim of long-term sexual abuse when younger, has a current substance abuse issue and is unsafe in her sexual contacts. Currently, she reports an inability to achieve orgasm. What is the first of the following that should be done to help Jane in terms of her long-term treatment?
Obtain a medical assessment.
Operant Conditioning
Pioneered by BF Skinner. There are four kinds of responses to behavior that will shape that behavior. All reinforcement increases behavior, and all punishment decreases behavior. A negative reinforcement would be taking away a negative stimulus, while a positive reinforcement would add a positive stimulus. A positive punishment would add a negative stimulus, and a negative punishment would take away a positive stimulus.
Herbert, a social worker, has been treating his client Tabatha for depression for many years. Herbert has had occasion to meet Tabatha’s sister Terrie on several occasions. There is a mutual attraction, and Herbert and Terrie have been in contact on social media and have decided to date.
