What is a router mainly employed to do?
Break up broadcast domains and route traffic
What are some advantages for using routers in a network?
They don’t forward broadcasts by default and they can filter the network based on layer 3 (Network layer) information such as an IP address.
What are four ways a router functions in a network?
Packet switching. Packet filtering. Internetwork communication. Path selection
What is the activity known as Session Multiplexing?
The Transport layer, working in tandem with the Session layer, also separates the data from different applications, an activity known as session multiplexing, and it happens when a client connects to a server with multiple browser sessions open.
What type of traffic does ARP use?
Broadcast Traffic. This means that an ARP request will remain in it’s own broadcast domain.
Can you disable CDP from running on the interface level?
Yes. Go to the interface and run ‘no cdp enable’
