What is Gender?
Gender differences in being male/female/intersex that emphasise social factors
What is gender identity?
A person’s deeply felt individual experience and expression of gender. In has been believed gender identity forms by age 3. (Gender identity is not a universal concept).
What is Gender-diverse?
Gender-diverse refers to persons whose gender identity is at odds with what is perceived as being the gender norm in a particular context at a particular point in time. An Australian study identified 30 gender identities.
What is Cisgender?
It is a gender:
Cisgender refers to having a sense of gender that corresponds with the gender legally assigned at birth. Its not a new ‘gender’ rather a new word that describes the gender you identify with five your female/male that identifies as this
For example. For me I am a male, identify as a male and am legally considered a male
What is a Transgender?
It is a gender:
Transgender refers to having a sense of gender that does not correspond with the gender legally assigned at birth.
What is Intersex?
It is a gender:
Intersex refers to a person born with a variation in their sexual or reproductive anatomy such that their body does not fit typical definitions of male or female. Intersex people are individuals born with any of several sex characteristics including chromosome patterns, gonads, or genitals
What is Non-binary?
It is a gender:
Non-binary refers to those who do not place themselves in male or female, exclusively, or place themselves outside of the gender binary
What is Heterosexuality?
It is a sexual orientation.
Male to female or vice versa
What is Homosexuality?
It is a sexual orientation.
Same sex attraction
What is Bisexuality
It is a sexual orientation.
Attraction to any gender
What is Pansexuality?
It is a sexual orientation.
Pansexuality is sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others
What is the definition of Queer?
It is a sexual orientation.
