Shows how Lady Macbeth wants to get rid of her womanhood and replace it with manlike traits like cruelty

Macbeth says he is willing to do anything to consider himself manly or proper.
“When you durst do it, then you were a man; And to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man.”
Lady Macbeth says that he must truly be a coward if he won’t carry out the murder and that if he carries out the murder then he’ll be the man.

She accuses him of his cowardice
“My hands are of your colour, but I shame to wear a heart so white.”
She is appalled by Macbeth’s cowardice and emotion. When she says this quote, it represents the reverse gender roles in their relationship
“Are you a man?”
Macbeth has seen the ghost of Banquo and is acting irrationally, So Lady Macbeth fears that he will give away that he murdered Duncan. And tells him to act strong and stoic like a man.
