Ge Kn Flashcards
With the truck already running, what is the proper procedure for achieving heated fluid
Spraying the ground prior to a plane taxiing in so we don’t waste any time getting up to temp on the deice - cutting times down
What is the Type I buffer in C/F?
What is the flash point for Concentrate Type I fluid?
212F
What does ERD stand for?
Engine run deice
How do we properly stow the nozzle from outside the bucket?
Using the switch on the side of the bucket
What temperature does the fluid need to be at in order to be accurately tested for RI?
140F at the nozzle
Can we spray Type I into another deice truck? If so what do we need to do after?
Yes, retest fluid in the new truck
Can we spray Type IV into another deice truck? if so what do we need to do after?
Yes, retest fluids
Name all of the Type I settings starting from least fluid applied
Fluid injection, low flow over air, low flow, high flow
During periods of snow fall, while deicing the wing, what should take place before the root is deiced?
Rest of the wing should already be deiced
While deicing, are winglets considered part of the wing or a verticle surface and why?
Wing because it is still attached to the wing as well as it’d still be verticle due to receiving type IV
What temperature does Type IV need to be heated to when applying?
Non heated
What temperature does Type I need to be heated to when deicing?
140 at the nozzle
Where is the APU on the 767? 737?
767 - Secondary side, Next to the bottom of the vertical stabilizer
737 - Secondary side, Next to the horizontal stabilizer, sometimes below
Explain some tactics for spraying in windy conditions. Spraying upstream, down stream and with side wind
Windy conditions - Use coverage behind the tail unless it’s working with you, if so use it so spread the fluid more and get a better coverage
Spraying upstream, keeping your safety distance, boom as close to the vertical stabilizer and extend out, continue moving bucket with multiple movements while spraying
