  • Recurrent GDM insubsequent pregnancies: increases with number of pregnancies with GDM, OR GDM in second pregnancy 13.2
  • Progression to T2DM: 5-6.5% within 6 months of birthing,, 10.7% if untreated GDM, mean time to development 11.4 years post pregnancy
  • Metabolic syndrome
  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Renal disease
