GCP Basics Flashcards
What is a region?
A specific geographical location to host GCP resources. (E.g., London, New York are regions)
They consist of at least three zones.
Why use regions?
Regions allow you to deploy your app in the same geography of your customers.
This increases availability and latency, and may allow you to adhere to governmental regulations.
What is a zone?
A zone is a deployment area for Google resources within a region.
Each zone has one or more datacentres and are connected to one another via low-latency links.
Is all Google Cloud data encrypted at rest?
Yes.
What is recommender?
Recommender is a service that provides recommendations and insights for using resources on Google Cloud. These recommendations and insights are per-product or per-service, and are generated based on heuristic methods, machine learning, and current resource usage.
