Scott Fitzgerald’s novel “The Great Gatsby”, it is shown that an individual will do almost anything to pursue their meaning of happiness because they believe that their vision, no matter how unrealistic it may be, is the key to finding fulfillment in life. As a result, one will find oneself completely consumed and dedicated to their idealized dream.

all of the extreme and irrational measures/things gatsby did to become rich because he knew that daisy valued money over love and would completely dismiss him until he possessed a large amount of wealth.
