Q

in what direction does the primitive streak travel in chicken embryos

A

from anterior to posterior. Cells that gastrulate early are closer to the head whilst those the move later end up closer to the tail end.

7
Q

why do cells change position as the embryo develops during gastrulation

A

The germ layers will eventually fold together to complete the gut canal.
cells that are medial will them become dorsal
cells that are lateral will then become ventral
