Head with tentacles for sending surroundings, muscular foot, animal in last whorl of shell. Siphon all cabal to separate inhalant and exhaled currents, thickness of shell determined by energy conditions, small apical angle allows burrowing.
How do they grow?
Laid down calcium carbonate on lips of aperture, outer lip grows faster than inner to achieve coiling and increase in size, soft body occupies body chamber of last whorl
What are the different types of coiling?
Right hand is dextran
Left hand is sinistral
No chambers within the shell it all are helical, may be planispiral
How would you distinguish a Gastropods living in deep water from one in shallow water?
Deep water have long siphon all canals to accommodate siphons, and may have longer spires.
