- GI effects
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, intestinal spasms, cramping
- CV effects

Hx: Allergy, lactation and pregnancy, GI obstruction
Physical: vital signs, GI obstruction, bleeding, perforation, cardiopulmonary status, skin (baseline)
Labs: monitor results

- Acute pain
- Diarrhea
- Deficient knowledge regarding drug therapy

Implementation
Implementation:
• Administer at least 15 minutes before each meal and at bedtime
• Monitor blood pressure carefully if giving the drug IV
• Monitor diabetic patients
• Provide thorough patient teaching
