Gatroenteritis: What is it?
A
Acute gastritis=stomachinflammation and presents with epigastric discomfort, nausea and vomiting.
Enteritis= inflammation of theintestines, and presents with abdominal pain and diarrhoea.
Gastroenteritis= inflammation of the stomach and intestines and presents with dicomfort, pain, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.

Gastroenteritis: Aetiology
A
Viral: spread easily and patients often have an affected family member or contact. must be isolated.
- - Rotavirus
- Norovirus
- Adenovirus(tends to cause respiratory symptoms)
Bacteria
-H-pylori, Escherichia coli(E.coli) - infeceted faeces, water and unwashed salads
