A
- tetracycline 500 mg every 6 hours for 14 days
- omeprazole 20 mg every 12 hours for 14 days
- metronidazole to 50 mg every 6 hours for 14 days
- bismuth subsalicylate 262 mg every 6 hours for 14 days

GERD
A
Can present with chronic cough
- cough is due to stimulation of the distal esophagus, not chronic aspiration
cough will resolve with antireflux drug therapy.
- trial of acid suppression with PPI may be beneficial in evaluating chronic cough.
- Response to treatment may be seen within 2 weeks, but the drug should be continued for at least 6 to 8 weeks.
