What is the clinical presentation of gastric adenomcarcinoma?

A

Most present late, commonly with:

  • Epigastic pain
  • Weight loss
  • Anorexia

Other features:

  • Haematemesis
  • Anaemia
  • Cachexia

What investigations are indicated in suspected gastric adenocarcinoma?

A
  • Endoscopy - visualise and biopsy.
  • FBC = anaemia
  • LFTs = metastases
  • CXR = pulmonary metastases and lymph nodes
