Explain how the first 4.5 billion years went?
[ Phase 1 ]
Volcanic activity produced, carbon dioxide [ CO2 ] rich atmosphere. Water vapour, nitrogen, methane + ammonia. Water vapour cooled and condensed and formed oceans. A lot of the CO2 dissolved in the oceans then formed carbon precipitate, then sediments on the sea bed
* Ammonia reacted to the oxygen, and that formed nitrogen + water
Explain how 2.7 billion years ago went?
[ Phase 2 ]
Green algae then plants evolved + they photosynthesise. The amount of carbon dioxide [ CO2 ] went down and the amount of water [ H2O ] went up.
* Sedimentary rocks = big store of carbon
Explain how 1 billion years ago went?
Ozone layer formed, it filtered out any harmful UV light to allow more complex animals to evolve.
