A
photosynthesis and respiration

What does photosynthesis do
A
Produces oxygen occurs in the palisade mesophyll and requires light energy which it only gets during day time

What does respiration do
A
Respiration produces CO2 and occurs all the time although is at its greatest intensity at night time

What is the compensation point?
A
Rate of respiration=rate of photosynthesis

What are the adaptions for exchange?
A
Thin–> surface area to volume is high
stomata–> Opens during the day to help CO2 being taken up
Intercellular spaces in mesophyll–> helps diffusion
Large and moist surfaces of spongy mesophyll
