Stress
The resultant internal force that resist change in the size or shape of a body acted on by an external forces in this code the term stress is often used as being synonymous with unit stress which is the stress per unit area
Hoop stress
The stress in a pipe wall, acting circumferentially In a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the pipe and produced by the pressure of the fluid in the pipe
Central premix system
A system that distributes flammable gas-air mixtures to two or more remote stations
Hybrid pressure system
A piping system in which the pressure at the point of delivery is reduced by one or more line pressure regulators prior to the appliance connection

All piping ,valves, and fittings from the outlet of the point of delivery from supplier to the outlets of the equipment shut off valves

A automatic or semi automatic device consisting essentially of a valve and operator that control the gas supply to the burners during operation of an appliance.
Excess flow valve
A Valve designed to activate when the fuel gas passing through exceeds a prescribed flow rate
Manual reset valve
Automatic shut off valve installed in the gas supply piping and Set to shut off when unsafe conditions occur. The device remains closed until manually re-opened
Pressure relief valve
A valve that automatically opens and closes a relief vent, depending on whether the pressure is above or below a Predetermined value.
Temperature Relief valve
A valve that automatically opens and automatically closes a relief vent, depending on whether the temperature is above or below a predetermined value
Vacuum relief valve
A Valve that automatically opens and closes a vent for relieving a vacuum within the hot water supply system, depending on whether the vacuum is above or below a predetermined value.
Service shut off valve
A Valve, installed by the serving gas supplier between the service meter or source of supply and the customer piping system, to shut off the entire piping system.
Valve Member
That part of a gas valve rotating within or in respect to the valve body that, by its position with respect to the valve body, controls the flow of gas.
Nondisplaceable Valve member
A valve member That cannot be moved from its seat by force applied to the handle or to any exterior portion of the valve.
Vent
A passage way used to convey fluegases from appliances or their vent connectors to the outdoors.
Regulator vent
