- gall make contact w/ potential buyers prior to exhib opening - often offers previews to serious buyers before the opening to avoid the crowds on opening night
- comm –> find opp for artists through comm / large corp or govt clients which may –> incr. exposure = both artist & gall

- following exhib –> keeps further samples of an artists work to show buyers
- large gall = v. soph stockrooms w/ purp built viewing spaces & storage racks
