Q

Iliolumbar Ligament

A

Ensure the foot and cat I, II, III pelvis are corrected
Ensure bilateral lat dori, SCM, upper trap and deep cervical spine mm are normotonic - hypertonic treat stress receptors
Ensure supine gait and step forward gait normal
Gait test stepping backward - not same as stepping forward - carry out iliolumbar ligament technique
Test
1. Rebound L5 and retest stepping backward gait.
2. Approximate L5 TP and ilium to shorten ligament
Rx
1. Ipsilateral glut max strain/counterstrain
2. Keep shortened glut max and hold approximation of the iliolumbar ligament for 30-40sec

Q

Filum terminale Cephalad lift technique

A
Test
1.
Patient TL coccyx - negative
Patient directs TL to anus - positive
2.
Find tender Cs mm
Practitioner hold coccyx curving with it and hooking the tip. Lift cephalad.
Evaluate the vector to minimize tender Cs mm
Rx
1. Hold cephalad contact on the coccyx
2. On exhale squeeze the occ
3. On inhale Holding coccyx and occ squeeze direct the C1, 2, 3 caudad
Repeat x4-5
