What are the licence and medical recency requirements?
Licence:
- 3 t/o and ldg in the previous 90 days to act as PIC (61.17)
- Flight review in the 24 calender months before the month of the flight (61.21)
- IFR is 6 approaches in the last 6 months, including holding, intercepting and tracking (61.17)
Medical:
- Class 1 - (only required ATP) 12 months unless over 60 two pilot or over 40 single pilot(6 months) 61.9,b)1
- Class 2 - CPL, FI, Glider Tow, PPC, SPC or Sport pilot (60 months) unless over 40 (6 months) 61.9,b)2
- Class 3 - (requred for SPC of SPC FI) 60/24mo under/over 40 (61.9,b)3
When dont you require a medical as an operational FI?
Dont require a medical as a FI if you are not PIC, or a required crew member (61.9,c)
Do you need a current GACA medical if you hold a valid foreign medical?
No. You must have the medical in your posession while operating, when operating on a licence issued under 61.55 (foreign conversion)
What experience must you record in your flight logbook as a minimum?
Any time as a required crewmember of a Saudi Arabian registered aircraft(3), any time required for recency(2), and any time required for the issue of a new rating or certificate(1) (61.13a 1-3)
What do you need to record in your logbook for a flight?
Date, Aircraft type and rego, location and safety pilot if required. also flight time. (61.13b 1)
Can you operate an aircraft without the physical copies of your flight licence of medical?
No

What is the difference between a class rating and a category?
Class means: a classification of aircraft within a category having similar operating
characteristics.
Category means: a broad
classification of aircraft.

- Large other than lighter than air
- Turbojet powered a/c
- Postion based type rating for Multi Crew (min crew 2), ie (PIC or SIC 747-8)
- Heli/powered lift certificate single pilot
- Other types, the president can issue under the type rating procedures,
- SIC rating
When can we log PIC flight time?
61.13.d)
- SPC,PPC or CPC when they are the sole manuipulator of the controls
- Sole occupant of the aircraft
- When acting as PIC when operating multi crew
- 1 When performing the duties of PIC under supervision (ICUS) supervisor must have CPC or ATP plus a rating in the aircraft.
- 2 When the supervising PIC certifies the training in the logbook
