Q

How does FARMSCOPER estimate costs and impacts of measures?

A
  • cost/ eff ratio is calculated as £/% reduction
  • If cost values are -ve then farmer can save money but not often high% reduction
  • some costs not taken in consideration
  • no one right solution! Best used as an indicator

Q

Cumulative effects of measures

A

Measures are added in order of C/E ratio
Disproportionate costs and benefits the further down, win-win solutions in the middle?

Assumptions:

  • are the measures all compatible and can they all be implemented in the same place?
  • assumes each measure is additive
  • interactions? Could limit other measures
