A computer is an electronic, programmable data processing machine.

A
Because we can’t live without them.
They improve the quality of manufacturing and make it cheaper, give us faster access to information so jobs can be done more quickly, they can make better decisions, they can make new ways of doing business and new ways of communicating.

Describe one example computer system with inputs, outputs and processes.
A
E.g holiday booking:
Inputs: dates, destinations, credit card details.
Outputs: Air tickets, hotel reservations, itineraries.
Processes: check availability, produce documents.
