Q

What are the Laws of Thermodynamics?

A
  • 0th Law: If two systems are each in thermal equilibrium with a third one, then they are in equilibrium with each other
  • 1st Law: The energy gained by a system is equal to the energy lost by the surroundings
  • 2nd Law: A reaction will cause energy to move from a more efficient form to a less efficient form, meaning the entropy will increase

Q

How can we measure pressure?

A
  • Barometer
  • Manometer
  • Bourdon Tube (Tube that coils or straightens out as pressure changes. Different types e.g. C-Type, Spiral, Helical, Twisted Tube)
  • Strain-gage pressure transducer
  • Piezoelectric transducers
