Where does blood cell production take place?
In the bone marrow
What is the purpose of mineral storage?
To store minerals, then release them into the bloodstream when the body needs them
What minerals are stored in the bones?
Calcium, Iron, Potassium and Phosphorous
What is an example where the body protects the organs?
The cranium protects the brain.
The ribs and sternum protect the heart and lungs.
The vertebrae protects the spinal chord.
The pelvis products the reproductive organs.
Where are blood cells produced?
In the bone marrow of the Pelvis, Sternum, Humerus and Femur
