It is the process of combining all the resources of an organisation both physical and human towards achieviving various goals of an organisation.

planning, directing, delegating, organising, coordinating and motivating
What is planning and who is it carried out by?
It involves the overall formulation of policy,aims and objectives of the business .It gives the organisation focus and is necessary because the firm operates under an uncertain environment.
This is carride out by top management.
What is directing and who is it carried out by?
It is the giving of instructions on a daily basis to workers and it is carried out by lower level management(supervisor)
What is controlling and who is it carried out by?
It is the regulation and monirtoring of activities for the purpose of achieving profitable objectives and using measures when objectes are not being met.
It is carried out by middle/lower level management.
What is delegating and who is carried out by?
It is the ensuring that the workload is shared and it is carried out mainly by top or middle level management
What is organising and who is it carried out by?
This is the ensuring that everything is in place so that operations can run smoothly and effectively
What is coordinating and who is it carried out by?
It is the bringing of all functions of the organistaion with the aim of harmonizing all activities to sucessfully achieve a common goal.It is carried out by middle and top level management.
What is motivating
It is the process whereby management encourages each provides best so that the goals of the organisation can be met.
