has 3 tissues: muscular, glandular, epithelial and contains hydrochloric acid and enzymes.

stores bile.
Function of the pancreas
produces enzymes.
Function of the duodenum
it is at the top of the small intestine and bile enters it by bile duct.
Function of the small intestine
most digestion takes place here.
Function of the large intestine
excess water reabsorbed.
Function of the rectum
undigested food stored.
Function of the anus
egested food exits.
Function of hydrochloric acid (HCL)
lowers the pH in the stomach and kills microorganisms e.g. Bacteria.
Function of bile
neutralises HCL (stomach acid) and emulsifies fats.
