Fuel Systems Flashcards
How many tanks?
2 intregral tanks
Collector tank inboard sectionof wing does what?
Keeps fuel pumps submerged to ensure constant fuel flow
What does the fuel tank venting system do?
Equalizes pressure with ambient to maintain structural limits
Total fuel quantity?
20935 total
150 is unusable
10392.5 is usuable per side.
When do you get a fuel low indication?
660 lbs in each tank
Where is the fuel temperature taken from?
Left wing. Limit is -40C
How many fuel pumps on this aircraft?
13 pumps 2 engine driven 6 scavenge 2 ac pumps 1 dc pump (right wing)
What is the purpose of engine driven pump?
Primary fuel pump for engine. Creates motive flow by providing motive flow to primary ejector (1) and scavenge ejectors(3) per side.
Where is the ejector pump located? How is it powered? WhAt is its purpose?
Collector bay, power is venturi/motive flow, positive pressure for engine drive pump
How many scavenge ejectors? What is there purpose?
3 per side. Keep collector bay full. They operate off motive flow.
What is the purpose of the ac pump?
Back up for ejector pumps. Supplies pressure for crossfeed. Ac pump 2 supplies fuel to apu when edp2 is not running.
Where is the dc fuel pump located? What is its purpose?
In right wing. Supplies pressure to apu fuel system when ac power is not available to the #2 ac fuel pump.
What does the crossfeed option allow to happen?
It allows one fuel tank to feed two engines.
Allows to correct fuel imbalance (794lbs)
With Low1 indicated where is the fuel going?
With Low2 indicated where is the fuel going?
Engine 1. Opens xfeed valve and turns on right wing ac pump
Engine 2. Opens xfeed valve and turns on left wing ac pump
What is the only way to shut-off fuel to the engines?
The fire handles in the flight deck
